Winter Golfing in Waynesville: An Untraditional Getaway

Winter Golfing in Waynesville: An Untraditional Getaway

The NC Smokies is known for our winter sports: Skiing, snowshoeing, tubing, and even golfing. Yes, golfing! Just because there’s snow on the ground doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy mountain golf in the Smokies. Explore some of the incredible golf courses Waynesville has to offer. Book your tee times and lodging, and golf to your heart’s content at these two courses, open year-round.

Laurel Ridge Country Club

Head over to Laurel Ridge Country Club to get in eighteen holes while enjoying panoramic mountain views at this all-inclusive mountain golf getaway. Golf is available Tuesday through Sunday on this par 72 championship course. Winter temps are usually in the 40s-50s so be sure to layer—or don’t so that you’ll have a good excuse to pick up something nice in the pro-shop. If you work up an appetite between bogeys, grab a quick bite at the Turn Window on the 10th tee.

Laurel Ridge Country Club

One of the best parts of the Country Club is that it comes complete with two beautiful lodgings on-site, The Hideaway at Laurel Ridge or The Inn on the Green. After a long day of perfecting your swing, retire to one of these conveniently located accommodations or one of our other unique and cozy stays. End up really loving golf at Laurel Ridge? Memberships are also available for unlimited golfing year-round.

The Waynesville Inn

Mountain golf doesn’t get much better than The Waynesville Inn Golf Resort, with its three unique courses. Looking for quick but challenging nine holes? Try the Dogwood Course with its numerous elevation changes.

The Waynesville Inn

For 18 holes, book the original Carolina Course, designed in 1926 by renowned Scottish architect Donald Ross, or the sprawling Blue Ridge Course which follows a creek through the valley. Lodging is available right off the course, so you’re all set if you just want a relaxing atmosphere before and after you play.

The Waynesville Inn

So, pack your clubs, call your best golfing buddies, and don’t forget to save some time to experience beautiful Downtown Waynesville. We’re known for our fabulous farm-to-table cuisine and craft beer scene, a perfect way to end the day after a couple of rounds on the course.
