Grants & funding opportunities
When local businesses and projects succeed, all of Haywood County benefits. The HCTDA offers several grant programs to support local tourism businesses, events, and capital projects that enhance the Destination and support the local community.
How grants work
Putting Occupancy Tax to work for our community
HCTDA grant programs are funded by Occupancy Tax revenue collected from visitors staying overnight in Haywood County. That means the dollars visitors spend here come back to the community as investments in the businesses, events, and infrastructure that keep Haywood thriving.
Grant funding is awarded on a competitive basis, reviewed by the Product Development Committee, Executive Committee, and voted on by the HCTDA Board. Awards are made in alignment with the Haywood County Destination Master Plan. All programs operate on a fiscal year basis running July 1 through June 30.
Preference is given to initiatives likely to attract visitors from outside a 50-mile radius, generate overnight stays, and create measurable economic and destination impact, while also enhancing quality of life for local residents.
