Guide to Renting a Waynesville Mountain Cabin

Guide to Renting a Waynesville Mountain Cabin

Ready for your slice of heaven in our enchanted part of the Smoky Mountains? Staying in a spectacular mountain cabin is the best way to experience the magic of Waynesville! If this is your first time booking a cabin, you’ve no doubt got a few questions about the process. We’ve done our best to answer them below.

Have questions? Ask them

First, it’s important to ask any and all questions you may have about the cozy cabin you’re looking to visit. Your cabin may very well be atop one of our mountains, so asking about the steepness and quality of the road would be a good place to start. That way you can determine if your car is up for the task! Other things like privacy and the location of grocery stores are good nuggets of information to have while making a logical lodging decision.

What are the amenities?

What kind of things are you looking for in a place to stay? With cabins, it might be nice to snuggle up next to a fireplace or huddle around a fire pit for warmth (s’mores are mandatory). Some cabins and homes are equipped with hot tubs for added relaxation. Getting a feel for the kitchen appliances will be good if you’re planning on cooking meals. If you’re bringing your four-legged friends, check to see if the cabin is pet-friendly—it likely is, but it doesn’t hurt to check.

What are some things to do in Waynesville?

When it comes to planning a trip, booking a place to stay is sometimes only half the battle. What you’re going to do when you get there can be the real deal-sealer! In Waynesville, you’ll find a downtown scene that’s bustling with unique shops and flavorful eateries. You’ll also find outdoor adventure on hiking trails and scenic Blue Ridge Parkway overlooks. There’s truly something for everyone—including your furry family members. After all, this is where mountains meet Main Street!

Cool, so when should we visit?

Depends, how soon can you pack? Just kidding—or are we? Truthfully, you should give yourself plenty of time to plan this trip. There’s plenty of fun to be had and you’ll want to be sure to make the most of it! Our most popular seasons are summer and fall, but each season in Waynesville offers its own unique draw. Be sure to plan ahead if you’re looking to catch the fall color or spend the holidays here. As an insider tip, if you plan six to nine months in advance, you’re more likely to snag a great deal on a pretty sweet cabin!

I’m ready to do this. Where can I book?

Easy, you can find all of our lodging options right here. We hope to see you soon!

If you need any extra help finding or booking your Smoky Mountain cabin, give our Visitor Center a call—we’re more than happy to help.
