5 Picture-Perfect Spots for a Photoshoot

Grab your camera and head to Haywood County! The NC Smokies are home to several dreamy destinations that provide the ideal backdrop for any photoshoot. Take photos for your wedding, reinvigorate your Instagram feed, or get the perfect shot for your future holiday greeting card. Any occasion will do! Check out these gorgeous spots that will “capture” your heart.

Max Patch

This patch of land is a popular destination to capture memories with a golden hour glow. Experience breathtaking 360-degree mountain views along the Appalachian Trail. With acres of wide-open clearings, you’ll have plenty of places to frolic for a candid shot or perfect your pose with the mountains stretching far behind.

Looking Glass Falls

Shift your focus to another stunning location that your followers will fall in love with. Take the stairs to the top of this 60-foot waterfall for a lookout area with scenery you won’t want to mist. If an action shot is your angle, visit the lower platform and strike a pose.

Black Balsam Knob

This tree-less bald wields sweeping vista views of the North Carolina Smokies that will make you shutter with delight. Grab your talent and head to this 6,214 ft bald beauty for a glamour shoot. This is your opportunity to be America’s next (mountain-)top model.

Devil’s Courthouse

OH snap! This picturesque summit has a mean view for a photoshoot. Sitting at an elevation of 5,720 feet, visitors can see all the way to South Carolina, Georgia, and Tennessee. You can tell everyone that you captured 4 states all in one photograph—how’s that for a caption?

Lake Junaluska

While this sparkling body of water is a popular destination for summer watersports, it also serves as a great place to capture a special moment. Lake Junaluska has an array of exquisite locations to set up your photoshoot. Grab your loved ones or a really good selfie stick and get snapping.

Haywood County and each of our five mountain towns is filled with one-of-a-kind photo ops. No matter which part of the County you choose to explore, there are many opportunities to capture some magic in the mountains. Not to mention, we’re near some other great scenic locations if you’re really on the hunt. After a long day of modeling, grab a bite at one of our delicious local eateries, tuck into one of our cozy accommodations and start scouting your next location.
