Guide to a Happy Holiday in Maggie Valley

Guide to a Happy Holiday in Maggie Valley

With the holiday season come numerous age-old excitements. The jolly old man will visit with his 12 magical reindeer, gifts will be unwrapped, hot chocolate will be sipped, and cookies will be eaten (maybe by a few more people than just Santa Claus), and that may be all for the average joe. But here in Maggie Valley, we believe that both the pre-and post-holiday spirit should be merry and bright for you and your family. That’s why we’ve put together your Guide to a Happy Holiday in Maggie Valley. Merry Christmas to you.

  1. Stay Cozy
  2. Eat Warm & Drink Cool
  3. Shop Festive
  4. Capture Nature’s Greeting Card

Stay Cozy Keep the Christmas spirit alive before and after wrapping up – or rather unwrapping – your Christmas day. Setting the perfect scene plays a big part in this. Identify the elements that make a holiday space merry and bright for you and your loved ones. Is it a fireplace in the room? A nook to cuddle up with your favorite book? A cabin in the woods? Whatever your perfect place looks like, Maggie Valley has a cozy accommodation for you.

Eat Warm & Drink Cool A delicious holiday getaway starts with the perfect bites and brews from our local restaurants. Sip the season with a glass of locally-made wine from B&C Winery, or indulge in a freshly-ground brew and pastry from Organic Beans Coffee Company. And when you get hungry, warm up with the perfect flavors from restaurants like Pavino’s Italian Pizzeria & Bistro, Valley Tavern, or Pop’s Butts on the Creek (Always call to verify restaurants’ holiday hours and whether a reservation is required).

Shop Festive Whether you’re crossing items off your Christmas shopping list or getting a little something for yourself, you’ll want to browse along Soco Road. With hand-made goods from shops like Mamma T’s Mountain Made and Mountain Mike’s Whetstone Woodworks, and unique finds at Simply Soco and Barn Tin Boutique, you’ll never leave your holiday getaway empty-handed.

Capture Nature’s Greeting Card Maggie Valley is home to some of the season’s prettiest views and outdoor activities, so be sure to experience them while you’re here. Whether it’s skiing at Cataloochee Ski Area, sliding down the runs at Tube World, or hiking some of Maggie’s best trails, like Waterrock Knob and Soco Falls, you’ll want to capture these memories with both your eyes and camera. Whatever you end up doing, we’re excited to see your holiday cheer. So make sure to capture and share the fun on social media, and tag @VisitNCSmokies and #HayNow for a chance to be featured in our upcoming marketing materials.
